C-Crewe: Grooming Galveston’s next generation of leaders
The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce “C-Crewe,” short for Chamber Crewe, was created in May 2010 to engage young professionals in the Galveston business community. This program provides opportunities for our young people to make business connections, learn from the business men and women who came before them and see the value and purpose of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce. These tasks are accomplished through a variety of events.
The C-Crewe organizes one luncheon per month for their membership in a variety of formats. Mentor Luncheons feature three influential business men and women invited to sit roundtable with the young professionals, while Hot Topic Luncheons focus on an important issue facing the community and serve as an educational forum where our young professionals can develop their own opinions.
After hours mixers for the C-Crewe are a casual atmosphere where members can sharpen networking skills and create working relationships with other young professionals.
The C-Crewe’s flagship event, Mudbugs & Beer on the Bayou, was first held in May 2010 when the group kicked off. It has been an annual event ever since. More recently, the C-Crewe has begun another annual event called Turkey Trot, a traveling mixer.
